AstroCiencia Nómada, a group of experienced astronomers will offer us the chance to explore the wonders of the cosmos: a Solar Observation to explore and observe the Sun, and a Night Observation to get ready for nighttime stargazing and see the Moon, planets and deep space objects. For this exciting activity, you will get to use specialized equipment, including solar telescopes, solar glasses, binoculars and astronomical cameras, all under the expert guidance of experienced astronomers who will provide fascinating explanations and demonstrations!

  • Date: Wednesday, 18th September
  • Time & Venue:
    • Solar Observation: 17:30–19:30 at Ciudad Deportiva de Maspalomas (Soccer Tournament, Pitch No. 2, Google maps)
    • Night Observation: 21:00–23:45 at Parking Maspalomas - Faro (in front of Lopesan Baobab Hotel, Google maps)
  • Activities depends on the weather, but in any case we will get many interesting explanations
  • Equipment for observations:
    • 130 mm Lunt with a tunable Hydrogen-Alpha optical filter to see structures of the solar chromosphere
    • Solar glasses with CE Certification for visual observation
    • A professional scientific spectrograph for the analysis of the solar corona and its chemical composition
    • Prisms to decompose sunlight
    • Telescopes: 8", 16" and 20" for planetary, lunar and deep space observation, 12.5" Zambuto mirror for astrophotography
    • Binoculars: TS Optics 30x100 90°, Vixen 7x50
    • Astronomical camera: EQ8-RH Pro QHY 600mpro (Zambuto)
